Wendell and Jacob stared at the bewildering sight. Basil pointed his right flipper at Stafford's new morning coat. The Whimble tailors scooted right over to it. Wendell held up the crooked shoulder. Jacob examined the uneven sleeve.

"This coat looks just like the first one we ever sewed, doesn't it, Jacob?"

Jacob chuckled. "Indeed, it does. What a memory! That day, though, we learned that any sewing mistake can be mended, didn't we, Wendell?"

"We did. Our father, renowned throughout The Hillside for his tailoring skills, helped us. He made all sewing look easy."

"This is what our father said to us that day, Stafford," continued Jacob. "'With a snip, a tuck, and a little bit of luck, any creation will be beautiful.' So, with that in mind, let's get to work!"

The tiny tree frog's thump thump splatting slowed. He hopped to his friends and hugged them both fiercely.

The Hillside brothers worked as a team, snipping, cutting, sewing and trimming. Soon the coat was ready for Stafford to try on.

"Here you go, Staffie," said Wendell, helping the frog wiggle his flippers into each sleeve.

The front door opened. In strode Manning with Sophie by his side. The Woodland Whimbles had returned from their journey south. Sophie carried a small package that she handed to her Companion. "Water Whimble Thomas created this for your new morning coat, Stafford."

Moments later, Stafford donned the most elaborate shell studded party hat. He bowed gracefully to allow everyone to touch the intriguing sea treasures. The colors set off the tree frog's polished silky green skin to perfection.

"Staffie, you are ever so dashing. You look like a little prince," Basil exclaimed.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Stafford repeated to all assembled. "I couldn't imagine I would wear such finery!"

"Why, all you needed was a bit of help, Staffie," Jacob replied.

"And, with all of us working together, didn't the end result turn out 'sew fine?'" added Wendell.

Laughing heartily, the group sat down for a sip of tea, some of Annabelle's shortbread, and a good visit. (la fin from The Woodlands - Caelumen)
