Trolliver's Harvest Pumpkin Wreath

Pillow Whimble brothers Devon, Dillon, and Delaney have been inspired to create the most serendipitous autumn wreath I have ever seen. Dillon, the youngest of the three, organizes handiwork. He instructed Devon to cut various fall-hued habotai silk ribbons in eight inch lengths. Delaney was responsible for dying silk velvet.  Afterward, Dillon cut various diameters of this fabric for three sizes of pumpkins. Devon and Delaney assembled each, adding a number of taffeta ones to the collection.

When the silk was tied to the 12 inch wire and thick welting wreath armature, Dillon arranged the pumpkins in small groups, varying in size and color.  As lovely as the arrangement looked, all brothers thought the wreath needed a little something more. While I collected scraps of silk and velvet for my new snippet collar, Delaney began searching through his shepherd knapsack. Since I join him every day with his flock, I know he carries all his creations in that vast pack. It took some time, but finally he removed a piece and placed it on the bottom of the wreath.

"Why, Delaney, you have created an exact replica of Trolliver's wee cottage. How enchanting it is!" exclaimed Dillon.

"Bravo! It's just what this wreath needed. It gives a little extra harvest pluck," added Devon. "We must name it after you, Trolliver.  You are, after all, the best of all Companions any of us could ever wish for."

Delaney came to me, knelt, and gave me one of his special hugs, caressing each ear.  I nuzzled his hand in appreciation. To think that this special offering will be named after me is a wonder!

"I think we need to celebrate," stated Devon, our in-house chef. "We must harvest our first pumpkins for a superlative pie."

Needless to say, cheers filled the Whimble home, heard throughout the meadow. (la fin from the USA - Earth)
