In the Fullness of Summer Part II

"First," said Chad, "Take a look at the marvelous French car just down the street from us. It's a beauty called a 'deux chevaux' by Citroen."
Elspeth, curious, flew to the red and white toylike auto. She hovered over it for sometime like a hummingbird, wings whirring. Returning, she announced, "Miss Martha, that car is for you. Doesn't everyone think so?"
After Rudi and Sasha agreed with Elspeth, the group followed Chad and Hanon onto the front garden path. Magic awaited. Many varieties of hostas, hydrangeas, and fern interlaced with one another. Magenta impatiens complemented the floral pattern of the large adirondack chair pillow.
The circular path provided a fine textural contrast to the pine straw and plant material.
"I took a peek," exclaimed Rudi, jumping off of Elspeth's back. "We saw the pool!"
With that, the gathering continued on the path downhill to another cloistered, well manicured outdoor living space. A pink foxglove bloomed her head off in a container framed by the blue of pool water.
Containers abounded, arranged either alone or in groupings. The blue green tones of succulents combined perfectly with variegated ivy and hosta.
"Here we go! What fun this is!" Sasha cried, riding on her Companion's back. "Wouldn't Thomas and Sebastian the Tiny Sea Turtle like to be with us today? They would have a fine time soaring in and out of the water."
Elspeth skimmed the pool from end to end before climbing high above the water and diving down again. The Orchid Twins hung on for dear life as the dragon did one "loop de loop" dive after another. Soon they were all tuckered out.
"Thank you so much for showing us your beautiful pool, Masters Chad and Hanon," Rudi declared, while the three were drying off in the morning sun on top of one large foxglove leaf. "I think we'll fly home now. We need to water our own two patios. We've promised to help."
The two gentlemen nodded. Master Jock and Miss Martha thanked them as well, being ever so grateful to have seen such enchanting gardens on their Sunday morning walk in the fullness of summer. (la fin from Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, USA - Earth)
