Spring planting begins early in The Working Gardens of Lumenesia. Annabelle the Sweet Pea Whimble and her constant Companion, Gillian, have been hard at work all day. The sun shone brightly while the two transplanted tender seedlings from their cold frames into the newly cultivated raised beds.
However, with the gathering afternoon shadows, both friends' energy waned. When the Whimble suggested baking some juicy cranberry cupcakes to share with jasmine tea, the Tiny Field Mouse jumped for joy. They packed trowels and cultivators into their knapsacks and headed for Annabelle's wee cottage.
Soon, a lovely tea tray was prepared and, as night fell, the two were happily enjoying a cozy time in Annie's magical Dream Bed, wellies and gardening tools laid to rest at last.
