2013: Dimensional Work - Heelis Helleborus from The Hares for All Seasons Collection - Artist's Collection

In the northernmost Anciennan territory called The Snow Temple lives a solitary hare, Heelis Helleborus. One dawn he left his snowy shelter to travel over The Spine into The Woodlands of Lumenesia. While foraging there for winter buds, the hare startled a white ptarmigan into flight. Moments later, he saw the remarkable gift she left behind - a shimmering magically spun nest with three blue eggs.
The eggs, laid so out of season, must be kept warm. Attaching the nest to a snowy branch, Heelis sped to the safety of a nearby outcropping. He settled into a shallow depression, carefully wrapped his furry body around the nest, and awaited what he knew would soon come, a "Winter Birth."
