2013: Dimensional Work - Edwin Valentino from The Hares for All Seasons Collection
The finest of Whimble tailors created Edwin Valentino's elaborate attire. Hillside brothers, Wendell and Jacob, renown in Caelumen for their sewing skills, accepted the project of designing the perfect costume for this "Master of Ceremonies" personality. The brothers began cutting and sewing for many many focused hours. Edwin was very patient and complimentary, adding an 'ahh' or 'how splendid' when any detail was added. While the two worked on his attire, the hare busied himself designing a hat that could be worn by either pirate and nobleman. The result of this millinery pursuit suits Edwin's adventuresome spirit perfectly.
When both hat and clothing were complete, the brothers added white silky angora lamb fur, coloring, and elegant ceramic hands. They used archival glue to place the fur and Copic markers for facial color and expression. The effect was stunning. Edwin was ever so pleased to feel more and more like a true hare.
That very evening, though, he seemed worried. He held a length of ribbon with a lavender filled rose silk velvet heart on either end - a bookmark. He caressed the two hearts tentatively with his new hands and said hesitantly, "If it would be permissible, I would like a heart staff. Then I will be certain to 'lead with my heart and lighten the world.'"
Many Whimbles and Companions gathered around him as he spoke, touched by their new friend's words. Jacob and Wendell promised this Honorary Friend of the Whimbles that his wish was their command. Pillow Whimble Delaney and Orchid Whimble Twins Rudi and Sasha decided they would contribute gifts as well - a tiny elf and elfin dragon. These were promptly added to the staff as talismen to guide Edwin on his way.
Soon the Whimbles waved goodbye to EV. They hear from him often throughout the year. He writes of his explorations through forests, up hills, down valleys, and over meadows in any weather. They miss him very much but know they helped him complete his becoming a REAL "Hare for All Seasons."
