2000: Dimensional and Flat Work - Ezra the Snow Temple Cat from The Anciennan Collection - Private Collection
These pieces represent the process of elaboration, a format that I employ not only in my own work but also in the teaching of art. I fabricated the dimensional cat first. Once he was complete, he was photographed by Atlanta based Jan Wyatt. She took individual polaroid transfers. I manipulated this flat work with colored pencil, gouache, and gesso. The elaborative result is always a fine surprise, often filled with a more profound depth.
